Support the Starkloff Disability Institute at the Great Grilled Cheese Off
The Starkloff Disability Institute is one of the featured disability nonprofits that will be participating in the Great Grilled Cheese Off this year! They will have a booth with information and activities so you will be able to learn more about their important mission.
Founded in 2003 by Max & Colleen Starkloff and David Newburger, the Starkloff Disability Institute works to create pathways for people with disabilities to gain acceptance in all facets of society through employment, education and universal access.
The Starkloff Disability Institute impacts the community through its programs. Most significant are those designed to promote economic independence by addressing barriers to employment facing people with disabilities. They approach those barriers with complementary programs that create welcoming environments for the employment of people with disabilities who are prepared to present their credentials with confidence and pride. Their programs include: the Workplace Disability Advisor, the Starkloff Career Academy, DREAM BIG, ACCESS U, the Disability Studies Initiative, the Universal Design Summit, and Colleen Starkloff Talks Disability. Each program plays a significant role in changing attitudes about disability.
