The Illinois Center for Autism (ICA) is a not-for-profit, community-based, mental health treatment, and educational agency dedicated to serving people with autism. Referrals are made through local school districts, hospitals, doctors, and the Department of Human Services. Educating and serving children and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to help them achieve their highest level of independence in their home, school and community.
The ICA is also a grilled cheese contestant this year! The Pasta Fare Italian Restaurant, an enterprise of the Illinois Center for Autism was specifically designed to provide training, vocational skills training and employment opportunities for individuals with ASD. This specialized training allows individuals the opportunity to function within a community job setting in the areas of; food preparation, retail food packaging, cashiers’ duties, janitorial and clerical tasks. They will be entering in their signature grilled cheese: the Italian Rye 4-Cheese Grill!
